A visual exploration into my dissertation question; ‘How does Bootleg Culture exploit the relationship between fashion branding and class?’.The main outcomes for this were imaginary collaborations between high and low end brands, resulting in a bootleg overbranded Stone Island jumper, a ‘Stone Island x Superdry’ collaborative jacket, a pair of ‘Louboutin x Converse’ shoes and a series of overbranded Selfridges bags that contained the final zine. These items were posted in Facebook fashion groups trying to sell them as real items, and the reactions from users of the groups were collected and displayed in a zine alongside pictures of the clothes themselves and the process.Paper stock for the zine used paper that had been used for test prints for the bags, resulting in random logos printed throughout.
